Colorimetric method for the determination of Primary amino nitrogenThe amino nitrogen groups of free amino acids in the sample react with N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) and o-phthaldialdehyde (OPA) to form isoindoles. In optimized conditions, these isoindoles give a a stable complex, which intensity color is proportional at the free amino nitrogen amount.
